NHL Tickets

The National Hockey League is one of the four major sports leagues in North America along with the NBA, MLB and NFL. It is comprised of 30 teams spread across North America, 24 in the U.S. and 6 in Canada. Like the other sports leagues, the NHL is separated into two conferences, the Eastern and Western Conference. Each are then separated down into three more divisions.

In the Eastern Conference, the divisions are the Atlantic Division, Northeast Division and Southeast Division. For the Western Conference there is the Central Division, Northwest Division and Pacific Division.

From 1942 to 1967, the NHL played in the era of the "Original Six" and is the birth of the NHL as we know today. Those six teams, which were the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, are still in the league.

But through expansion and growth, the league continues to gain momentum with fans who love to buy hockey tickets. The newest tradition that is beginning to take hold in the NHL is its annual Winter Classic Game that takes place outdoors each New Year's Day. The game takes hockey back to its roots and has drawn huge interest from fans, which get to watch the game from a new unique location each year.

In 2007, the game was played at Buffalo's Ralph Wilson Stadium, the 2008 game was played at Wrigley Field in Chicago and in 2009 the game will take place at Fenway Park in Boston. Fans only get to have this unique experience once a year, so getting Winter Classic tickets can be tough, so make sure to secure yours as soon as possible.

The pinnacle of the NHL season is without question the Stanley Cup playoffs. The intensity gets ramped up, and the quality of hockey is unmatched. Whether you buy hockey tickets or watch the games on TV, you will want to see these games.

When the Stanley Cup Finals kick off, even non-hockey fans begin to tune in and pay attention. But nothing will quite be like having Stanley Cup tickets and being there in person.
